TikTok Wants to Extend App with Gaming

TikTok plans to increase its popularity by launching a gaming channel in the app. The news was first revealed by Financial Times. TikTok officials do not hide their intention to grow bigger. They revealed their plans to try a new field which is gaming for them.

The truth is TikTok has made a well-thought addition to the app. The tab inside the app will let gamers access the mobile games they want. It will be ad-supported which will attract more advertisers to the section and even game developers who would not mind earning money for their product. Users will be able to spend their money in the tab as well, by paying for exclusive content like gaming lives.

As for the timeframe, it is still unknown for now. The Chinese version of this app, named Douyin, has started a similar campaign in 2019. They offer games that are hypercasual to all their users from that time. So, this is not entirely new territory to TikTok officials. They have successfully implemented the same idea for their native department. As for Europe, it is still unclear when the company is going to represent gaming options.

However, there are active rumors about TikTok's plans to reveal the TikTok Made Me Play It channel. It will be TikTok’s very first global event this November. The speakers include 2K Games and Electronic Arts, which are legends in the gaming area. TikTok has officially confirmed the event. They promise to make it a live stream for all the fans. Their main focus is on gaming. TikTok said that the future is there and it is currently happening on their platform.
