Could Hogwarts Legacy Have Featured a Companion System?

Over the past months, the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy has been generating a lot of buzz in the gaming world. Many fans have been disappointed about the alleged lack of a companion system, as it is only available for selected quests. However, recent discoveries suggest that the feature could have been more prominent.

At first, players took notice of something strange when they installed the Companions Mod. Those who used it noticed that some of the characters had special dialogue lines that suggested they were supposed to accompany the player throughout the game. A TikTok user recently posted a video showing the quest, "Ghost of Our Love," which had some of these lines included.

The same discovery was made in the quest, “Well, Well, Well,” further suggesting that the companion system was intended for the game in the first place. Some fans have speculated that the feature was cut due to the need to release the game on three different platforms, while others have claimed that it was removed intentionally to be sold later as DLC.

Nonetheless, some of the game’s content has been modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not impossible, therefore, that the companion system was cut due to the pandemic-induced delays.

In conclusion, recent findings suggest that Hogwarts Legacy could have featured a companion system. The reason for its removal is still unknown, though some theories have been presented. At the end of the day, we can only wait for official statements from the developers for confirmation.
